Director of Projects - CCHA
JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the President, this position is independently responsible for exercising sound judgment and focusing on global outcomes. The Director of Projects, designs, manages, and implements goals and objectives to help achieve CCHA’s strategic mission. The Director of Projects has leadership responsibilities directing the coordination and development of data analysis and project teams. The Director of Projects identifies opportunities for group contracting and purchasing , new business opportunities and operational improvements to help member hospitals. The Director of Projects has responsibility for ensuring assigned projects and services achieve outcomes within budget confines. The Director of Projects has decision-making authority within established systems and protocols. The Director of Projects performs other duties as requested.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

1. Directs and supports project teams and implements initiatives to increase operational efficiencies, improve quality and achieve economies of scale.

2. Identifies and negotiates contract opportunities on behalf of CCHA hospitals to achieve maximum savings for all members.

3. Coordinates the development, design, and implementation of educational programs and quality improvement opportunities for CCHA members.

4. Provides project design, data collection, and analysis through project completion.

5. Provides leadership and guidance for CCHA in interactions with staff, members, and external contacts at local, regional, and national levels.

6. Provides leadership and management in coordination of annual Alliance events including, but not limited to Alliance Day and Residents Reception.

7. Prepares material and participates in Executive level meetings such as Board, and Chief Nurse Officer team meetings.

8. Provides analysis of statistical and financial data and presents the same when necessary for decision making to CCHA President, staff, hospital directors and others.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. Education: Bachelor’s or other advanced degree in a healthcare related field.

2. Experience: Minimum of two years experience in Project Management or related capacity. Minimum of three years experience in a healthcare related field.

3. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Possesses the manual dexterity and skill to operate a computer, department phone system, stopwatch, and computer software programs to include but not limited to: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

4. Interpersonal Skills: Must have a pleasing personality with which to work with other employees, Hospital leaders, physicians, patients/families, vendors, and other key stakeholders. Must be positive, professional, and a team player.

5. Essential Physical Requirements: Job requires sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time, ability to move throughout the department and hospitals, possible minor lifting (10 lbs or less).

6. Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to apply judgment to prioritize work, ability to understand, follow, and recall instructions, excellent analytical and global skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.

7. Essential Sensory Requirements: ability to see, hear, and speak clearly.

8. Exposure to Hazards: None.

9. Other – Hours of Work: Typical 8-hour days. Some adjustment of schedule to meet outside department’s schedule and workload.
